The girls sat in anticipation this morning to hear their horse and group assignments – There was so much excitement to try out their assigned horses. They are divided into 12 morning riders aka ‘The Buckin’ Broncs’ and 12 afternoon riders aka ‘The Barrel Racers’, which were then divided into 3 groups of 4 children. Each AmAzinG instructor then spoke with their assigned lesson group to find out exactly what the girls wanted to learn both on and off the horses – these included vet care, roping, horse washing, nutrition and show grooming.

The Buckin’ Broncs then headed to the barn to groom, tack and ride their horses, while The Barrel Racers had some horse related ground lessons and then got creative in arts & crafts designing their own horse-barn blueprints.

Following lunch, and some delicious cookies from Chef Sheri, the girls had rest hour in the shade of their yurts before heading back to the barn. The groups flip flopped and it was The Barrel Racers turn to groom, tack and ride. After a lengthy ride in the arenas for both the Broncs & Racers, they experienced their first of EVR’s many trails – Sheriff’s Shortcut.

We can surely say all the girls are truly worn out but very happy after today’s busy day at the barn – but it’s not over yet as tonight’s evening program is DISCO NIGHT – where there is a prize for the craziest hairstyle. It should be an interesting night 🙂
