AdVill Opening Ceremony!
Raccoon poop and Hemlock tea! Well, actually it’s just melted chocolate chips and tea. Campers partook in the opening ceremonies with Adventure Village this evening. They got the chance to sample some of nature’s finest local treats while they sing songs and watch counselors do cooky skits around a fire. The most popular song they sing is a call and response song about “THREE BLIND JELLYFISH!” It’s a showstopper.
Everyone seems to be settling in well. Our head counselor pulled me aside and remarked about how he has a really good feeling about this session. You can’t go wrong with a mature group of kids who love to have fun.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
