3 canoes on lake cole

And they’re off!

This morning at the crack of dawn the village rose out of their bunks to trail breakfast in the village. We cooked some oatmeal with all the good fixins (including rainbow sprinkles). The day started cool but soon heated up as groups hit the road to their put-in sites. We’re sending: Two groups to the Adirondack’s for canoeing and backpacking respectfully, one group to Mohonk Preserve to rock climb in the Shawangunks, another group went to the East Branch of the Delaware River for more canoeing and the final group stayed on camp property to backpack our 6000 acres.

All groups will be checking in and are getting set for their first night on trail. We will hold off on posting more blog posts until they return.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
