at EVR…
Firstly, we would like to apologize for the lack of blog updates for the past few days – we have had real problems with our internet and phone…
Needless to say, we have been having a great time in the sunshine for the past few days! The girls have learned how to wash their horses and help with the treatment for some of our sick horses too. They were also lucky enough to be able to watch our farrier – Walter – at work with some of our horses…
However, we have spent the majority of our time in the arena or on the trails, making the most of the great weather. Some of the groups have already started cantering, and others have been working on their skills at the trot – some of them for the first time! Most of the girls have experienced one of our toughest trails – Ranger Ridge Lower and Ranger Ridge Upper – which was a big hit amongst the kids!
Outside of the barn, we have been busy in the arts and crafts building – friendship bracelets EVERYWHERE. The girls have also discovered their love for SPLAT! – one of the many games we play here at EVR.
As it has been so hot, a couple of our counselors started a water balloon fight one afternoon which quickly backfired and turned into all 24 campers versus 2 of the counselors – The kids definitely won!
Our most recent addition to EVR is our AMAZING new GAGA PIT. We played for hours last night – it was quite the tournament. Our evening program last night was also a new favorite – Killer at EVR! We played in our games room/basement where each of the girls had to pick a card and whoever got the joker was the killer. The killer has to go around and x people’s backs without revealing their identity. When someone ‘dies’ we then have to try to figure out who the killer is! ALL the girls had a great night.
Today is looking like it will be another sunny day… the girls brought the horses in this morning before breakfast for another long day of riding 🙂
