Habitat for Humanity Back from their 2 weeks of hard work, these campers are full of pride after spending a portion of their summer helping those who are in need of support.  They can go home with sore muscles and smiling faces, knowing that a portion of their summer was spent doing what matters most in life: helping those who are not in a position to be able to help themselves.  With that in mind, they can move on from camp feeling good about the things they’ve accomplished. Maine Coast Fresh off of their kayaking overnight, the group from Maine Coast waved goodbye to the beautiful landscape by the waters […]

It was a bright blue sky and I couldn’t have thought of a better thing to do then hit the trails and go exploring! We sent out our Adventurers to different parts of the Catskills to explore. One group went up and over Wildcat Mountain to visit our farm. They toured our barn, meeting all of the animals that were there. Chickens, goats, rabbits, cows and so much more. Another group hiked to the top of Table Mountain! It travels through a beautiful hemlock grove and then has an incredible view of at the top of the mountain overlooking the East Valley. It’s a perfect trail for a day hike. […]

What a day in Adventure! We had an action packed day full of learning, teamwork, and just good ‘ole fun! We started the day with tarp building. All of Adventure Village got together and learned the art of tying knots and setting up different tarp designs. We then split up into groups with people from different tents and practiced our skills. It’s great practice for our mini-trip, which is coming up in only 4 days! After that we got a little dirty playing Ultimate Turbo Kickball! It’s a game of kickball but instead of using regular bases, we use old mattresses covered with mud and glitter. You don’t have to […]

Teams were formed with some fun team building activities and then they all sat down to start really thinking about what they want to accomplish on their trip by setting smart goals. All the trips are out for […]

With the snow on its way out and the warmer weather trickling in, it is now the time to dust off our hiking boots and get outside. Being outside has always been an important part of my life and after seeing hundreds of campers come back from backpacking trips physically and emotionally stronger, I thought I would write about a few of the many benefits of being outside! It’s relaxing!! There is this instant feeling of calm when taking a step in to the woods.  The sound of the creek next to you or the wind blowing through the leaves of the towering trees puts a person at ease and allows […]
