Better Know your Hird! Part 2 of an ongoing series

I would like to introduce John K. he will be a Lenape Counselor this summer. This will be his first summer as a counselor and were all very excited to have him be part of our team!

“I’m John Joseph K. or as many of my friends call me Jack. I’m from the quiet mountainous town of Ledgewood, which is in good ole New Jersey. I’m currently a freshmen at Montclair State University, majoring in History so I can be a teacher after I graduate. Many look to me as a source of clever whit and humor, while also being the buy they can vent to about the issues they are having. I can be both very fun and serious when I need to. I’n not exactly sure what to expect this summer, but all I know is that I’m gonna have a experience of a life time.”

Lenape village is for campers entering the 9th grade. Both Lenape and its sister village will have a unique program offering this summer Wood Working! Each village will be responsible for a project for the betterment of camp each session.

I’m incredibly excited to be able to work along side of John and excited about the new and unique program offerings available to Lenape and Tacoma this season!

Morgan Theze

Born in New York but raised in Ireland, Morgan has spent every summer he can remember flying back to the US to attend summer camps. Over the years that Morgan worked at a well-regarded private camp in Maine, he took on many roles including Cabin Counselor, Head of Rocks and Ropes, Program Director, and Operations Director. Morgan began working at Frost Valley as a program instructor in 2014, leading activities for our schools and weekend programs, before becoming our Director of Camp Henry Hird. Campers at Camp Henry Hird range in age from 13 to 16. Morgan loves working with this age group as he finds that this is the time of their life where they form into unique individuals and discover the values that they will hold with them for the rest of their lives.
