Welcome to the start of session 4! It was so nice to see new faces and also some familiar ones too. Everybody moved into their yurt, learned everyones names by playing name games, decorated bunk name tags, and made friendship bracelets. We had our opening campfire where we sang lots of campfire songs, and each yurt performed a skit to everybody else. Everybody got involved and the skits were so funny! We also had individual performances where the girls got to show off their own talents. We got to see lots of singers and dancers! As has been noted in this blog recently, on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at our summertime “Annual Meeting” of trustees and friends of Frost Valley, we will induct Bob Haines, Hunter Corbin, and the late Chuck & Joy White into the Frost Valley Hall of Fame. Session 4 has started and it almost feels like fall. There’s a nice chill in the air and it is definitely getting darker earlier than normal, giving some great ambiance to the opening campfires we had yesterday. Sacky and Hemlock met with our MAC villages for a night of performances followed by S’mores. Tacoma and Lenape did the same, as did Pac and Windsong. This was after an exciting day of meeting new friends at check -in! Today was just as exciting.
