Blue Skies in Adventure!

Yesterday afternoon and evening had still more rain – but campers made the best of it by having a gigantic mud fight that involved slinging gobs of gooyness at a once-white-yurt-now-turned-brown!  They also played a game called “Killer in the Castle” to avoid the wet drops after dinner – a game in which participants need to figure out who in the group is “killing” the rest based on handshakes.  A favorite activity was zipping and climbing in the rain – our group holds back for nothing!  Campers said they liked the added challenge of having to zip through a rainstorm rather than just jumping off with good weather!!

Today the group started off inside making candles, followed by playing Geronimo outside.  Geronimo involves moving seats in a circle based on different characteristics that are being called out by a counselor.  As of right this moment – we are finally seeing some blue skies and sun – the first in a day and a half!  Everyone is lounging around soaking up the rays and drying out shoes!!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
