Weekends at Farm Camp are packed full of fun. Saturday is theme day and Sunday is harvest day. The theme this Saturday was a complex story about two staff members who were searching for hidden treasure and they were looking in different decades and different countries. Farm camp jumped in to help the search! We all got in a time machine to transport us to different time periods and countries. Throughout the day we visited five countries: Turkey, Greece, China, Egypt, and Japan. I loooooooove leading games of Geronimo at the Farm. They are all so into it. This session — our session 4 game — we were driven indoors by the rain. But the energy didn’t dim and we semi-slid across the dining hall floor. And, as usual, I stayed for a delicious lunch afterwards. Long live Farm Camp!

Week one is going great. The sun is shining and we are taking every opportunity possible to stay outside. Last night we had an outdoor barbecue which featured beets and potatoes from the garden and our own farm beef. The amount of campers who ate and enjoyed beets was very impressive! After the barbecue, yurts six and seven left for their overnight. They hiked to a site called Ladleton, which is tucked away in the woods and has remnants of stone walls that existed many years ago.  They got to practice outdoor living skills by putting up tarps and building a fire.
