As day two comes to an end here at Frost Valley, campers and staff are settling into bed and heading off to sleep after an action packed day.

Today campers came to terms with what it means to be at camp and what it means to be in Adventure Village, with insights and comments that left staff in awe. This morning, campers learned a little more about each Mini Trip that we offer in Adventure Village and signed up for their top two choices. Afterwards, campers were  taught many of the village cheers that they will preform as loud as they can at hoopla tomorrow. Hoopla  is a tradition at camp where each village will gather and try out cheer other villages with songs, skits and dances about their own.

Second period the village broke up into tent groups for an activity we call Tent Time. Tent Time is when each tent group gets to spend time hanging out and getting to know the other kids in their tent. This activity creates an environment for better and stronger relationships between campers and their staff.  Additionally, campers get the opportunity to discuss and pick what activities they would like to do. Some examples are: creating new games, short hikes around camp and going to our nature room to learn more about Frost Valley’s local wild life.

After rest hour and an re-energizing lunch, the village took part in two camp classics: Capture the flag in the woods and water front. At water front, kids can choose from kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and playing on the water jungle gym and trampoline.

Day 2 (138)

To end the evening, the AiT’s led, along side the adventure staff, a challenge night in the indoor chapel. This is an evening where the campers get to take part in low energy activity games and challenges. Challenge Night is a good activity for some of our less active campers to shine by winning points for their team.

Today has been a great day for both the campers and the staff and they get to do it all over again tomorrow, but for now its time to get some rest.

Goodnight and Happy Trails,
