EVR 2-Week: Bareback riding and theme day
This weekend the two week girls enjoyed a slight break from their usual camp routine. On Saturday we had bareback day where all of the girls got to ride without a saddle. They found it really interesting because you can really feel your horse move and feel much more connected with them. It is of course also a bit wobbly and they all had to really use their muscles to balance themselves! All of the girls spent the morning down at the barn doing show grooming and horse washing as well as riding. Our horses Spirit and Jack were super clean by lunch time! After lunch we played capture the flag before having a chilled out afternoon in the sun sliding along the slip and slide.
Yesterday was theme day and the theme was… SAFARI! Our counsellors became safari guides and led the girls through activities such as cheetah in a tree and a photo scavenger hunt. In the afternoon their safari guides lead the girls to the watering hole down at farm camp for a cool off before a super tasty barbecue with the farm campers. We stayed all evening and got to make new friends before having a hoe-down in the barn. All of the girls loved showing off their dance moves before catching a tractor ride home to EVR.
Today the girls have been riding (of course!) and doing tie dye – so expect some creative shirts when they return!
