Plan Your All-Inclusive Weekend in the Catskills!

Friday Dinner Options

Frost Valley offers a light snack from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Options for the light snack are available first come first serve and include a soup of the day and a salad. We also have salty snacks such as chips and pretzels. There is a sandwich making station with soynut butter and jelly. And, we have fresh fruit available. Our drink station is always open and includes fresh tea, coffee and juice.

If you are looking for a more substantial dinner, we encourage you to visit one of our local cafes. Each of these two options offer wonderful atmosphere and delicious meals.

BLUE HILL LODGE & CAFE

Located just 1 mile past the turn off to Frost Valley, is the Blue Hill Lodge and Cafe.  The perfect place to have dinner on your way to Frost Valley, with a full menu including pizza. NEVERSINK GENERAL STORE

Just two and a half miles from the Claryville Road/Route 55 intersection toward the Neversink Reservoir, the Neversink General store deli can make any sandwich, pizza or special of the day and the grocery carrys all your basic needs including several local products. Frost Valley offers all sorts of activities you can participate in, and almost all of them are included in the price of your stay! Private programs may be scheduled specifically for your group. Our regular activities are listed below. Teambuilding workshops can be added to enhance your Frost Valley stay for an additional price. We host one day outing retreats or on-site workshops in a range of affordable options.

Archery

Test your bulls-eye skills by using a bow and arrow. Our trained staff take you through the steps to become an expert archer. We have recently added an indoor range, making this camp tradition available all year-long.

Arts & Crafts

(additional fees may apply)
Your creative side opens up with a variety of activities here at Frost Valley. Our instructors will help you make crafts including wind chimes, jewelry-making, candle making and dream catchers.

Broomball 

(winter only)
Grab your group or family and create a team to compete in one of the oldest games here at Frost Valley. Participants use brooms to play a version of hockey on our frozen basketball courts.

Cross Country Skiing 

(winter only)
Experience some of the best cross-country skiing New York State has to offer! Set on 6,000 acres, deep in the Catskill Mountains, Frost Valley YMCA offers great skiing for all ages and abilities. Whether it’s the miles of beautiful back-country trails, or skiing beside pristine streams, there’s something for everyone!

Floor Hockey

Enjoy a friendly game of floor hockey, perfect for your daily dose of exercise, and fun with the whole family!

Gardening

Learn about the importance of plants, trees, and flowers while planting your own seeds to contribute to the growth of our wonderful planet! Each participant will get to pick from numerous types of seeds to plant and care for.

Hayrides

Enjoy a vintage ride along the Neversink River where the  beautiful scenery is always in season.

Horseback Riding

(additional fees apply) Join our qualified instructors for a half-hour riding lesson, sign your kids up for a pony ride or take the whole group out on a trail ride through the scenic Catskill Mountain Trails. Sign up ahead of time by clicking here to fill out our Horseback Riding Options Form!

Ice Fishing 

(winter only)
Watch our staff cut a perfect hole in Lake Cole and wait for the big one to bite!

Lorax

Join us in a performance of the classic Dr. Seuss story of the Lorax in our beautiful theater. With audience participation, our staff will lead you through the story of the evil Once-ler and the earth-friendly Lorax with silly costumes, fun rhymes, and a great lesson on the importance of protecting our planet.

Maple Sugaring 

(spring only)
At Frost Valley’s Maple Sugar House, guests can learn about the process of identifying a good sugar maple, tapping the tree, and boiling the sap to make delicious maple syrup. Experience all the elements of sugaring: a frosty forest hike, brisk mountain air, melting snow, the scents of good soil, swelling buds, tapping trees, collecting sweet sap, the heat of a good wood fire, the steam of evaporating water, and the sweet taste of arriving at 67% sugar content Maple Syrup!

Naked-Eye Astronomy

Let our staff guide you through the constellations on a beautiful night in the Catskills. See the stars as they shine brightly without the lights of the city drowning them out.

Natural Facials

Learn how using everyday household groceries can brighten and enliven your skin. Relax and let our staff guide you to a healthy and environmentally sound method of skin cleansing.

Observatory

Take advantage of our beautiful Catskill setting with a view of the stars from our telescope. Placed high on the mountain, our observatory provides some of the best views of the night sky.

Orienteering

Learn to use a compass to navigate your way through the “forever wild” Catskill Preserve with the help of our highly trained staff.

Outdoor Living & Survival Skills

Learn how to survive in the wild by mastering the skills of building a fire, creating outdoor shelter, packing a bag for a camping trip, and more necessary skills needed for conquering the outdoors!

Recycled & Upcycled Crafts

Learn how you can help conserve our planet by reusing materials like plastic grocery bags, newspapers, and recyclables to create memorable crafts! Turn trash into treasures as our instructor guides you on the process of saving the planet through art!

Snow Shoeing 

(winter only)
Frost Valley has over 27 miles of trails for our guests to enjoy during the winter months. Rent a pair of snow shoes or bring your own and experience the beauty of winter. You can choose to go on your own, or join our staff on a hike to High Falls.

Snow Tubing

(winter only)
Whether day or night, our mountainous setting provides the perfect opportunity to slide down the hill and enjoy the fresh mountain air nipping at your nose.

Sugar Cookies

Come and decorate your own sugar cookie—a perfect indoor activity after you’ve snow-shoed all morning!

Yoga or Stretch and Meditation Classes

Enter a serene state of meditation in a peaceful natural setting. Reconnect your body, mind, and spirit.
