You will be joining us in one of our Modern Camp Style Lodges during your LIVESTRONG weekend. Typically we utilize the 4-Room Style Lodges.

What will we do while we are at Frost Valley YMCA?

Frost Valley offers a wide array of seasonal programming which will appeal to the whole family. To see a sample schedule of a Spring, Winter and Fall weekend please click on Sample Schedules. Do I need to provide my own food?

No, Frost Valley will provide you with all your meals beginning with Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch for your weekend stay. At each meal you will be provided with both meat and vegan options. We make sure we have food that will satisfy our kids and adults alike. In between the meals our Thomas Dining Hall is open to provide guests with coffee, tea, fresh fruit and cereal. I have a family member with severe allergies/dietary concerns. Can you accommodate us?

Yes we can. 6 years ago Frost Valley became a nut-free facility – meaning we do not utilize products or serve products with nuts or made from nut oils. We provide Soy-nut butter instead of peanut butter. We are also well versed at providing for our guests who have gluten allergies, dairy allergies, follow a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and we can accommodate Kosher needs. Is there cell phone reception?

We do not have cell phone reception in our area of the Catskills. We have provided a Verizon Hot Spot in our Welcome Center which provides a limited signal appropriate for quick calls and emergency check ins. We do provide house phones throughout our property which can be used with a calling card or a credit card to make longer calls.

Will my room have WiFi?

Lakeview Lodge is the only lodging we have that internet is provided through a LAN line. We do have WiFi available in our Thomas Dining Hall for all guests to access.

Does public transportation come to you?

Unfortunately no, there is no public transportation that comes all the way to Frost Valley. The closest NJ Transit Train comes to Middletown NY. The closest bus stop to Frost Valley is Monticello NY. In both cases our guests would need to provide their own transportation from these locations, or hire a cab.

Are your facilities handicap accessible?

Some are yes. We have a variety of lodging available that is handicap accessible, our Thomas Dining Hall is handicap accessible, our Arts & Crafts, Nature Center and Theater are all accessible.Other program areas are accessible by path, but they are not paved and so can be difficult for skinnier wheels to traverse.

What and where is the closest hospital?

There are two hospitals within 45 minutes of Frost Valley YMCA. Ellenville Regional Hospital and Catskill Regional Hospital. We do have a fully equipped health center, and an EMT / Nurse who is on staff 24 hours when guests are on site, and they are available to assist you however you need.

I have medication that needs to be refrigerated, is there a refrigerator in the lodge?

While we do not have refrigerators in the lodge we can arrange to a portable fridge placed in your lodge. Please contact our Health Service Director at 845-985-2291 ext 225 to make these arrangements.

Do you offer horseback riding programs?

We offer an equestrian program in the Spring and Fall for our guests. You can choose from trail rides, pony rides (for our littlest riders) and riding lessons. This program does have an additional cost, and we encourage you to pre-book your rides prior to your Friday night arrival. To do so please click on our Horseback Riding page.

Can I bring my pet?

No, Frost Valley YMCA is a pet free facility.

What time is check out, and what needs to be done?

We ask that you check out of your lodge prior to joining us for lunch. When leaving your lodge we ask that you close and lock all of the windows, turn the heat thermostat to 55 degrees, turn off lights, and remove the trash & recycling to the outside box. If you used our blankets and pillows, please stack them on one of your bunks. Don’t forget to check under your bunks, in the drawers and cubbies, and under the mattresses to be sure you haven’t left anything!
