A Sunny Session!

We survived the last of storms from earlier this week and it’s finally starting to look and feel like sunny summer weather! Adventure Village, or AdVill, had a great start yesterday! The village started the day off with a camp tour ( Adventure-style!) and got to do a little teambuilding and play some games along the way.

After lunch, AdVill campers got to choose whether they went ziplining, rock climbing on our very own Y-tower, or getting creative with natural rock paints! After all that excitement, campers got to relax with some much needed tent-time. Finally, right before dinner, AdVill got to take a dip in the Lake Cole!

To finish off the day, our AdVillians (people who like Adventure Village) took a small hike up Bank’s Hill to have a campfire where they learned some new cheers, chilled out with their friends, and sat under the stars.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
