Adventure Village Trips Departed!
As the fog rose, the dew clung heavy to the grass, and the sun cracked through the trees on the horizon our Adventure Village campers woke and made their final preparations for trail. Our philosophy at Frost Valley Adventures is to make sure we’re prepared for anything. That’s why all campers were 100% packed and ready to hit the trail first thing this morning. That type of approach allows us to get into the woods early and steak out the best camp sites. It also make sit easy to get everyone to sleep when the sun goes down around 8 PM. We call it a voyageur start, meaning letting the sun dictate your day.
This session we’re packing out 6 mini trips. That’s one on-camp back packing trip, two Catskills Park backpacking, one Shawangunks climbing trip, one Adirondack Park backpacking trip, and one Adirondack Canoeing trip.
All trips left before the breakfast bells tolled at the dining hall.
As has become tradition, a Red Tailed Hawk saw our trips off from his perch atop the gear room.
The village will be off site for the next 3 days but we will definitely have staff in the office here in the valley awaiting their ceremonial return. The next blog post will be on Wednesday when the Adventure Village trips return.
Happy Trails,

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
