DAY TWO OF ADVENTURE CAMP!

Day two of Adventure Village is in full swing here at Frost Valley and it is a scorcher. The campers have just arrived at their fourth activity for the day and so far it has been packed with fun activities for all campers.

This morning they had creative writing (were the camper get sit down, chill out, and enjoy the the back drop that the Catskills have to offer and do some creative writing whether its poetry, funny stories, personal exploration or self reflection), Zip Lining, Philosophy with Ian (this is were campers take part in discussion about the world in which we are situated in the Catskill, some of the wildlife around us and how we treat and interact with them, this is where campers will learn about Leave No Trace (LNT) and how impact on the world around us). Some campers took part in Climbing on the Y-Tower, Being British with Beth (were camper learn about the culture and history of one of Merry Ol’ England), Candle making in Arts and Crafts and Creeking with Mini Mac (were Kids from Adventure camp hang out and interact with kids from the Mainstreaming at Camp Program often passing on their newly found knowledge about the outdoors).

Day 1 (62)

The fun doesn’t end there as after dinner we will be heading to the waterfront on Lake Cole for some canoeing and boating for the evening, what a lovely way to end a long, busy, hot day.

Yesterdays photos have been added to Smugmug page and today will be posted tomorrow. As always if you have any question, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll get back to you as soon as I can!

Happy Trails,

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
