3 canoes on lake cole

First day of Session 2 in Sequoia Village

Frost Valley staff and campers awoke to a sunny and beautiful Monday morning as they popped out of their tents and prepared for the day.  Adventure Village had a pretty relaxed morning where they had some time to really get to know their tent mates, and also go on a camp tour.

This afternoon was packed with Frost Valley summer camp traditions like Geronimo, led by Al Filreis himself, and waterfront at Lake Cole (also known as Lake Cold!)  Then our AdVill campers got to play another camp favorite, Mortal Noodle, with our adventure counselors-in-training.

Then, well after the sun set, the village started to head back home across the bridge to reunite with their tent groups for Devotion.  Devotion is something we do every night to reflect on the day and share experiences with others.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
