The Ministry of Standard Walks

Advillians have begun to settle into their new surroundings today. After breakfast the madness of Monkey Monday started to kick off! Campers had split up into four groups. The first group went to our High Ropes course to challenge themselves on the Leap of Faith. Other Advillians took part in The Ministry of Standard Walks. Campers explored the different types of walks. Some campers decided to go Creekin’ an Advill staple. And our final Advill group went for a bushwhack around Frost Valley property.

After lunch Advillians rejoined and as a group went back to the village. Once at the village they learned all of the Advill Cheers. The late afternoon was spent at the water front for a quick orientation and to play in the lake. Then it was time for dinner.

For the evening’s programming Advillians played a round of French Revolution on the Castle lawn. After that campers returned to the village for Devo and bed.

Who knows what adventures they are in store for tomorrow!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
