Habitat for Humanity- Update

Our Habitat for Humanity trip ended on a high note! Literally, they finished the trip with fantastic day of climbing at the Gunks! This was the groups second time to Mohonk Preserve. Last Friday the group went biking in Mohonk. They enjoyed a leisurely ride to the Mohonk resort where they had an ice cream picnic.

Their day off this week was spent at the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary Jamboree. They enjoyed hanging out with farm animals and getting their faces painted.  Sunday was spent at the Round Top Raptor Center where campers watched a raptor show.

The next three days campers and staff were back at the Habitat work site. They cleaned debris, sanding chairs and washing windows.

Habitat Catskills was very pleased with the work these young folks did and is excited for Frost Valley to come back third session.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
