Let the adventures begin!

Today was the first full day in AdVill and it was packed full of fun things! The morning was pretty relaxed, they got to enjoy their first “tent-time” which is a time that each tent splits off and does their own activity, specially planned by their own counselors. Then it was everyone’s favorite time on a hot sticky day, rest hour!

After lunch, the real adventures began. Some extra brave campers took a ride on the Giant Swing or Zipline, while others got to play on our low ropes course or relax in the creek. Then, at the hottest point in the day, we had an epic rainstorm! (What perfect timing) Then the village went down to Lake Cole (aka Lake Cold) to learn how waterfront works and take a quick dip!

Tonight our very own Village Chief has a special surprise planned for us in the Forstmann Castle!

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
