3 canoes on lake cole

Let the river romping begin!

Today AdVill was lucky enough to play in the creek with MAC Boys. Mac is our mainstreaming at camp program for campers with developmental disabilities. This was an excellent opportunity for our AdVill campers to learn about diversityh and for our MAC campers to learn about one of AdVills favorite activities. Some other lucky campers got to push their limits on the Giant Swing.

In the afternoon the village split into groups, one group got to take a ride on one of our ziplines; another group got to test their skills on our mountain boards. Our last group got to partake in an Adventure classic, a meeting of The Council. Afterwards everyone headed for the water! Campers usually get to choose between going for a dip in our lake or cooling down in the creek.

After a filling dinner, our campers got to challenge each other in a friendly game of Mortal Noodle. As the full moon rose over Wildcat Mountain everyone headed to bed to rest up before a full day of hiking tomorrow.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
