Maine Coasters!

Maine Coast has spent the past two days biking away on the carriage roads of Mount Desert Island.  They totalled about 12 miles yesterday and 18 today.  Along the way they stopped for a leisurely lunch and explored a small pond nearby.  They also had a chance to speak with some rangers about water quality tests they were running on the stream and ponds as they rode past.  They navigated some pretty steep terraine without thinking twice, and rode some easier paths as well.   The groups is getting along REALLY well – especially for such a short time being together!

Overall, the group is very active in their down time.  Frisbee, soccer and wiffle ball have been favorites so far, and the trip leaders have been joking about the amount of food everyone can eat!

I’ll update everyone next on Sunday!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
