Maine Trail Builders

Our crew is working hard up in the Bar Harbor area!  They have completed a project that involved raking out ditches to improve drainage and are currently working on clearing vista areas along the carriage roads of Acadia National Park.  The group likes hanging out playing cards, reading the newspaper and telling stories in the evening time.  Everyone is meshing well together and being inclusive of all team members.  Even though it’s been pretty hot out, the group has still been putting in a great amount of effort and the park rangers have commented on how respectful and hard-working this group is.

Our next update will be Sunday evening, after the group has completed a few more work days and a day of biking and climbing.  I’ll write to you all then!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
