Stealing Monkeys

Costa Rica Explorer

I got a call today and realized that I may never get my trip leaders back, they are just having too much fun.  The crew is spending this portion of the trip at a resort working with Macaws.  Yes, I said resort, complete with air conditioned rooms, and monkeys that bounce around the patio dining areas stealing sugar packets and anything else they can get their hands on.

It is a rough life, and the descriptions of crystal blue ocean, and swimming in them with turtles around them, is enough to make them all content to stay for a while longer.  To make it even better, they have met up with a school group from Washington and have hung out and somehow even convinced the resort to open up the discotheque for an impromptu dance party.   They can’t send pictures through the satellite phone, so the images will have to wait a few more days, but the descriptions can only be described as epic.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
