Whistle while you work

I found the Habitat Adirondacks crew in their campsite last night as they were finishing a dinner of Mac & Cheese with tuna. They have a beautiful site right by the water and withing walking distance of the showers (this made them very happy). This morning they enjoyed some cereal before heading to the Ampersand Avenue house for their first day of work. I joined them this morning for some landscaping, drainage improvements, and clean up.

Drainage improvements

I left them as they were eating lunch at the local park. This afternoon they were going to continue with the drainage and landscaping work and so some concrete pouring for the doorways. Tomorrow they will have the day off for Independence Day. There are parades, concerts, and fireworks all day in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. I hope your weather is as good as ours and look back in a couple of days for more updates and photos.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Zach eigenbrodt

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
