Nearing the end…
Wow – what a summer it has been! This last session has just flown by, don’t know where all the time has gone! We’ve had so much fun & learned a lot in the barn & garden! Yesterday we took our one and only trip to main camp this summer with the Advanced Gardening Class. We checked out the Admin Butterfly Garden, the Greenhouse & the newest Butterfly Garden up behind the Dining Hall Solarium that I installed with weekend volunteers this spring! We learned about many different types of plants, veggies, and even got some weeding in 🙂
This week we are already into our second set of classes – the campers picked new ones on Sunday after coming back from our overnight at Pete’s. They’re taking Chinese, Arts & Crafts, Advanced Hiking, Advanced Animal Care, Advanced Gardening, Singing/Dancing/Theatre and Sports. They are having a great time and are excited for the Dance tonight!
Tomorrow is Hirdstock (at the Farm, main camp’s was yesterday) and we’ve got lots of fun games & activities planned! We finish the session up on a high note, a mini-closing campfire to recognize the ‘graduating’ campers and then a slideshow of the photos from this session (that will be up on SmugMug soon, if not already) while they eat the ice-cream that they made last night!
