Dave Mager was a Frost Valley mainstay through the summers of the entire 1980s. I remember him as a camper and young staffer in the first half of the decade. Now his son Gus is a CIT. And Dave, a photographer and videographer, has been making films for us. His film last year, about our Bear Grylls survival program, was so good that we think it has helped with enrollments in that venture.

And then there’s Mike McNamee. He too was an ’80s guy, counselor in Hemlock or Lenape and then VC of various villages, and that voice — his songs sung at Hirdstock we all still can hear in our heads. Mike’s daughter Ffion came to FV as a Lakota camper five summers ago. Now she’s back as a CIT too.
