Farm Camp Weekend Wrap-Up!
Farm camp is in full swing and the last few days have been full of awesome activities, despite the rain. In barn specialty, campers have been talking about the different components of the relationships between farmers and consumers. In cooking specialty, campers have been cooking treats such as kale soufflé, with ingredients from the garden. In meditation specialty, campers have been talking about different ways to breathe. Today was the last day of specialties for the week, the campers will start new specialties on Monday!
The weekend has also been a blast. Yesterday, we filled our morning with campers choices like hiking, arts & crafts, and even a live action ‘Pokemon Go’ activity! In the afternoon we had an ‘Action Auction.’ Split up into teams, campers compete in different challenges like stinkiest shoe, best dance move, best counselors impression and more! Our Saturday wrapped up with an excellent dance party in the Dining Hall.
Today, campers are busy preparing our Harvest Dinner. Each yurt is preparing a dish using farm fresh ingredients like, lettuce, kale, potatoes, and more. Tonight we will gather in a pot-luck style to enjoy the delicious dishes they’ve created. Tomorrow, I will be sure to share the menu with you all!
Farm campers never fail to be enthusiastic and optimistic, even when it’s raining!
