Perfect Partners at East Valley Ranch
So… Session 3 is in full swing and the girls have definitely had a busy fun filled day!
Last night’s evening program proved to be a big hit with the girls and is fast becoming an EVR tradition… KILLER AT EVR!!! Basically the light’s go out and someone has to go and ‘kill’ other people until we figure out who the killer is. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!
After wrangling the horses in from the field this morning, the girls went to breakfast where they eagerly awaited the announcement of their horse assignments for the session… Each rider was assigned a horse based on their skill level and ability whilst also giving them a challenge and encouraging them to learn and grow as the session progresses. We use today as a trial day to make sure that each horse is perfectly matched with each rider and if we feel that some changes need to be made we aim to get these out of the way as soon as possible to ensure the girls have the best week possible with their horse!
The girls also get put into specific riding groups – The Buckin’ Bronc’s (the morning riders) and The Barrel Racers (the afternoon riders). While one group is riding in the arena or on the trails, the other group will be learning in ground lessons and doing either a sport or arts and crafts.
After the riding portion of the day is over, the girls head back to the barn to do some stable management – feeding and cleaning up after their horses before dinner time.
Tonight’s evening program is DISCO NIGHT!!! All the girls have spent hours dressing up in their CRAZIEST outfits with some pretty awesome hair and makeup too… See smugmug.com soon for pictures!
Tomorrow, the girls will be progressing with their lesson groups and participating in even more fun and exciting activities!
