Riding progression at EVR :)

Today was overcast at EVR which was perfect weather for the girls to spent more time in the sand arena, and less on trail, progressing and perfecting their riding skills.

The beginner lessons worked on their steering and first trot, the intermediate riders worked on their independent trotting and group trot, while the advanced riders worked on their cantering skills and weaving barrels. It’s great to see the difference and progress the girls have made on their horses since day one.

There was forecast for some thunder storms but we were lucky as they only hit at 4.30pm which meant no one had to miss out on riding time. The girls are currently enjoying a horse/cowboy documentary, keeping dry and awaiting dinner at 5.30pm.

All day the girls talked about our evening program last night ‘Killer at EVR’, so we may have to revisit that game since it was such a huge hit. Also, not forgetting the Gaga Pit, which the girls love and play any spare minute they have, as it’s located beside their yurts.

Tomorrow is the horses day off so we are having a ‘show grooming day’ where each girl is given a horse to wash and groom. There will be a prize for the cleanest, nicest turned out horse. We like to think of it as a Spa day for the horses since they work so hard 🙂

EVR is AWESOME!!!! 🙂
