With it being our last full day at camp, Adventure Village stayed busy packing in as many activities as possible.

After breakfast, we gave the kids options how they wanted to spend their morning. They could either zoom through the air by zip-lining off our y tower. Each and everyone of those kids were all smiles when finished with the zip-line. They also had the option to be creative and do Life Drawing with James the Assistant Director of Adventure. It felt good to slow down and bring the inner artist out. The last option for the day was a groovy one as they  hung out in arts crafts making masterpieces with tie dye.

They then split up into groups again, one group doing interpretive dance with Sam and the other taking advantage of the mountain slopes we have to offer and doing the slip and slide. Every kid came into lunch after their activities with smiles ear to ear.

After lunch, it was time to clean the village. Each tent was given a chore and it was time to leave their tents and living area spotless for the next group of adventure folk coming 4th session. Once that was done, everyone went to cool down and explore the Biscuit Brooke with some creeking. Since they had such a great session, we decided to reward the kids with an ice cream reward. Since we wanted it to be a surprise, our code phrase was to yell “the eagle has landed” and we take them to the bridge to get into adventure village where ice cream, whip cream, sprinkles and syrup is waiting for them to make their sundaes.

Once the day has ended and everyone is settling down from their exciting day, Adventure Village has their closing ceremony. Its a great time to reflect on their session and celebrate all of their accomplishments. Third session has been amazing and we are all sad to see these campers leave. We hope that we will see them all next summer and continue to grow as individuals.

Happy trails,
