Adventure trips for first-time campers!
Spending your nights in a tent, this program will introduce you to backcountry camping skills and create opportunities for personal growth and confidence building while making lasting friendships. This program is a great first step into our Adventure Trips!
Rocks and Ropes (Grade 6)
The Rocks and Ropes climbing trip is an introductory climbing trip for the camper looking to conquer their fears and build skills as a confident climber. Located in the stunning Shawangunk Mountains, campers will learn essential climbing knots, a variety of belay techniques and become skilled climbers. This is a great first trip for anyone looking for an adventure that will take them to new heights.
Level: Beginner
Age: Entering 6th grade
Gender: Co-ed
Duration: 6 days total (3.5 on trail)
Where: Shawangunks near New Paultz, New York
Requirements: Willingness and interest from participant to be immersed in nature and the camping lifestyle.

Catskill Backpacking (Grade 6)
This one week backpacking trip in our own Forever Wild Catskill Mountains is a trip for the camper looking to develop their skills and themselves. As we learn camping skills like map reading, fire building, low impact camping and many others, the campers will also begin to develop leadership qualities but greater self confidence. Come join us on this adventure for all skill levels.
