125th Birthday Party!!

Happy Birthday YMCA camping (or, if you’re using the new official name, the “Y”)! Today you turn 125 years old! In celebration, Adventure Village has, for the first time in many years, participated in an All Camp event. After doing some adventure elements in the morning, the village jumped in with the rest of Camp Henry Hird and Camp Wawayanda to make some arts and crafts, decorate a celebratory plaque and participate in a challenge show activity. Shortly, the village will be heading to dinner and celebrating with some birthday cake before moving onto a campfire to round out the celebration activities. Almost every Y in the country will be having a campfire in honor of this event!

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
