Frost Valley YMCA staff is made up of 100 full-time year-round staff. We have 25 outdoor instructors who work fall, winter, and spring providing programs to our guests and 450 additional staff in the summer. Each member of our staff team is dedicated to ensuring the best possible experience for you regardless of the program you participate in.

Camp Counselors
With staff hired from all over the US as well as other parts of the world, we have an 80% Counselor retention. We look for people who have a genuine interest in working with children, infectious enthusiasm, display positive role-modeling and work well with others. We conduct interviews, reference checks, and a vigorous background check including a criminal history on every single staff member yearly. All staff goes through staff training every summer.

Outdoor Instructors
We hire instructors from all over the US with a genuine interest in working with children, infectious enthusiasm, display positive role-modeling, and work well with others. Our staff all have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent life/camp experience, have passed a background test, have taken child abuse prevention training, and are CPR & First-Aid certified.
