Director of Natural Resources & Environmental Science
Extension 217

Anthony grew up in the Adirondack Mountains in Wilmington, New York. He has been the Director of Natural Resources and Environmental Science at Frost Valley YMCA since 2015. He was always outdoors hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, or skiing.  He learned to hunt and fish from his father at a young age, where he learned to love and respect wildlife and natural resources through conservation. While in high school, he volunteered with the Cornell Maple Program at its Uihlein Forest in Lake Placid, NY where he learned the entire process of producing pure maple syrup.  Anthony attended the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Forest Ecosystem Science.  This education, along with his hobbies and volunteer experience, has given him the knowledge and passion to manage forested landscapes to maintain a balanced ecosystem for all flora and fauna while also allowing for responsible use of the resources within the forest.

Anthony has been the Director of Natural Resources and Environmental Science at Frost Valley since 2015.  He did not have any background with Frost Valley prior to this, but he is now immersed in the culture of Frost Valley.  He manages over 5000 acres of land for recreation, wildlife, maple syrup, firewood and timber.  He loves to educate our staff and guests about conservation of natural resources.  He is working to become a certified hunter education instructor to help recruit hunters and bowhunters, while educating them on the responsibility, ethics and safety required of hunters.

Anthony serves as Vice President for the Neversink Association, a member of the Model Forest Working Group with the Watershed Agricultural Council, a member of the Watershed Advisory Group for the Rondout Neversink Stream Program.  He is also a volunteer firefighter for the Claryville Fire Department.

Anthony still enjoys the outdoor hobbies he had as a child.  He also enjoys playing and watching sports.  He is a die-hard fan of the Syracuse Orange, Buffalo Bills, and New York Mets.
