Claire Coombs

Claire attended multiple schools, including SUNY New Paltz, and ultimately earned a degree in Childhood and Youth from Northampton University in the UK. After working for years in outdoor education in the UK, she spent a summer at a YMCA camp in Utah and fell in love with camping and the Y. She came to Frost Valley in 2015 and has since had many roles and responsibilities through 2020. After a 5 year hiatus where she was a Youth Enrichment Director for the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, an Event Director for a wedding and conference venue, and became a mum, she’s excited to be back helping out the Summer Camp team!

Claire loves Frost Valley because of the sheer number of people who can have transformational experiences here and the growing number of partnerships and scholarships we provide to make it accessible to those who may benefit most. She enjoys learning how to support each staff member to help them become the best version of themselves and inspiring them to do the same for their staff or participants. She loves hiking, theatre (on stage, behind the stage, or in the audience), and being creative (her newest hobby is pottery). Most of her time is spent changing diapers and playing with noisy toys!
