Liz Unterman

Liz brings an extensive background in arts education and gallery administration to her new role at Frost Valley. She earned her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she also served as Gallery Director at the Student Union Gallery. Prior to joining Frost Valley, Liz worked as Education Coordinator at The Center for Photography at Woodstock and as adjunct faculty and curriculum developer at various colleges, shaping meaningful arts experiences for students at every age and level.

At the heart of Liz’s work is the belief that high-quality arts education should be accessible to everyone. She sees art-making as a vehicle for learning essential life skills that extend far beyond the studio.

As the Fine Arts + Character Director, Liz is excited to grow Frost Valley’s arts programming while weaving character development into every creative experience. She feels a deep sense of purpose bringing the transformative power of the arts to all who walk through its doors. When she’s not at Frost Valley, you can find Liz with her husband and 12-year-old daughter cooking, hiking, running, or exploring galleries and museums near and far.
