Topher Grifferty

Topher is originally from East Greenbush, New York, but spent 3 years living in the Southwest (Utah and New Mexico). They majored in Earth Systems Science and minored in biology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Topher worked at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in southern New Mexico as a park guide before coming to Frost Valley in August 2023 as an Outdoor Instructor. Now, as our Outdoor School Programs Coordinator, they help tailor top-notch activities and fun recreational experiences to suit each group. They love enabling kids to learn about the environment through hands-on observations. They feel that Frost Valley is the perfect place to do this, especially when learning about water sources and watersheds! They have always been interested in hydrology and hydrogeology. In their spare time, Topher enjoys weaving, knitting, and crocheting.
