Adventure Trip of the Week: Maine Coast Adventures
Hello Adventurers! This is the first of many weeks featuring one of Frost Valley YMCA’s Adventure Trips. In Adventure, we make it our mission to meet every camper where they are at, and throughout their time with us help to build them up to get closer to their fullest potential. We believe that combining the best, most caring staff with the unparalleled power of the wilderness is the most positive and purpose filled path to success we can set any camper on. Individuals who come through the Frost Valley Adventure Program do so with their heads held high, ready to face the school year with new skills, new confidence, and the ability to tackle hard problems that come their way! Adventure is where life-long friends are found, and we make it our mission to help everyone we meet feel great in meeting their goals.
The Maine Coast trip is perfect for camper new to the Adventure scene but looking for something more. The campsites are set in Acadia National Park and the outfitters have been book. For everyone entering 7th and 8th grade, this experience will put you on the seaside cliffs of Acadia, where campers get to learn how to climb and rappel from the seasoned professionals over at Acadia Mountain Guides.
After climbing, get ready to hit the water for sea kayaking! Learn the basics from our guides over at Coastal Kayaks before heading out on an island overnight!
Spots on this trip are filling up fast, sign up today to secure your spot on what is going to be one of the best Maine Coast experiences around! You can register online or you can call our registrars at 845-985-2291 ext. 203. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can email me at adventure@frostvalley.org or call me at 845-985-2291 ext. 265.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Zach eigenbrodt
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
