All Day Exploring the Catskills!

With the sun shining and wind calling our name, Adventure Village set off on exploring the forever wild Catskill Mountains. Whether its searching for a piece of history on top of Double Top Mountain, a hike up and over Wildcat Mountain visiting our farm camp or making the trip to one of the most gorgeous vistas called Giant Ledge our campers were able to truly experience the wilderness today. We broke off into three different groups and explored what the Catskills had to offer. We truly love these days because there is no structure, there is a beginning and an end but what happens in between is completely up to the campers them selves.

I apologize for no photos of the adventure yet but they will be up on Smug Mug very shortly so you are able to view their experience.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Zach couldn't keep himself out of the woods when growing up. He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
