Yesterday we wrapped up the first week of Session 4 with a Wild Wild West themed day. The campers got to choose from all kinds of fun activities including: tie dying bandanas, straw painting, wild west bingo, balloon archery, boating, slip n slide, and more! Today, we kicked off week two of Session 4 with Harvest Day. Everyone got to sleep in this morning, and then have brunch which included chicken, waffles, and of course, ice cream!! Greetings from Farm camp! This week we welcomed around 50 brand new smiling faces to the farm! We started session 4 off with an opening campfire where we got to see many songs, skits, and talents put on by the campers and counselors. This morning (and everyday) our campers wake up at 6:15am and head out to do chores before breakfast! They help the farm run by mucking the barn, collecting the eggs, feeding our animals, or setting up for meals in the dining hall. Then, after breakfast, the campers have their specialty classes! Hello from the Farm! This session has been packed full of fun activities, and new adventures! The rain has held off for the most part and we have had a week full of beautiful days. Here is a look at how the campers have spent them. Garden specialty got to pick a lot of raspberries as they have started to grow. The campers have also had a chance to make fruit smoothies with things they have harvested in the garden! Hello from Farm Camp, Tuesday we spent the afternoon in the Dining Hall because the Catskills decided to give us an afternoon thunderstorm! Our evening program was the very popular challenge night with Al. The campers were split into 4 teams and competed in a variety of challenges. The winners were able to receive their ice cream sundaes first. The weather for the rest of the week looks a little rainy, but the campers and staff are ready to make the best of it.   This week’s specialities include dance, bread and butter, crocheting, gardening, animal care, and drama. The first three days were very warm here at the farm. We did a lot of water games, broke out our brand-new slip ‘n slide, gave out tons of reminders to drink water and put on sunscreen! The campers all did great taking care of themselves during the hot days!  After our warm weather we finally had some much-needed rain!  Our garden is looking fantastic now that it has had lots of water and is ready for some harvesting to be done on Sunday when we have Harvest day. Farm Camp is very excited to welcome Session 1 Campers to camp this week. The weather has been very warm, but the campers are doing a great job drinking water and taking breaks in the shade. The past few days we have been busy gardening, learning about animal care, and many other adventures around camp! Every day our campers wake up before breakfast and head out to do chores. Each yurt helps around the farm with goat milking, mucking the barn, collecting eggs, or setting up for meals.
