Day campers enrolled in Mini Monet, Frost Valley YMCA’s brand new specialty day camp, recently had the unique and exciting opportunity to learn about art from renowned artist Alexander Kaletski. Mini Monet is designed to foster children’s natural love of art by encouraging them to express themselves through various mediums. Tonight saw most of the Hird go out on overnights! Our campers from Pac, Windsong, Sunburst, Tacoma, and Lenape all headed out to spend a night under the stars. They cooked over open fires (pita pizzas or mac and cheese), shared stories, and ate smores! Pac, Windsong, and Lenape will be spending a 2nd night out tomorrow, and everyone else will be returning to enjoy our normal daily schedule. What a wonderful Wednesday! Today we had perfect weather. Not too hot, not too cloudy, not too windy. Some of today’s activities: Cable bridge hangout: walking across the cable bridge, bonding, talking about the environment. Soccer: or football… depending on which staff member you ask! Goat cuddling: pretty cute, pretty self-explanatory. Berry picking: our raspberries are ready and we can hardly keep up! Over the last two days we have harvested over EIGHTY POUNDS!
