Connie Giunta, literally the very first dialysis camper, first session, July 1975. Her first ride. Liz White and Leslie Black are in the background, supporting. To say that we were all nervous about this activity is an understatement. First summer of the program & we had no idea about how it would happen. Eva Gottscho had told us stories of her daughter Ruth, so wanting to ride horses at a summer camp & being unable to do so (what camp would take a child with renal failure?). So this was a great important moment for us all.
