Building Strong!

Good Evening from East Valley Ranch! Things have been going well in the valley this week. Yesterday our campers all learned about different horse breeds from around the world, what they are used for, and what makes them unique. They also all spent another lesson working with their newly assigned horses. Each lesson with their horse bonds the campers and their four legged companions stronger. After some lessons working hard in the hot sun, we had a horse washing party, expressing our gratitude for our horses that continue to work hard for us each day. Horses aside, campers enjoyed cooling off from the hot weather in the creek and learning some outdoor living skills. Our evening program was a fast paced game of swap where campers practiced their quick thinking skills.

Today was a beautiful day, not too warm or cool, and very sunny. Campers learned about different gaits, terminology, and strides of horse movement as well as having their daily lesson. We took a break from creeking today (absence makes the heart grow fonder) and played water games on the main field. Games of drip drip drop and water splat were reported. Campers also got to do the low ropes course! It can be an intimidating task, but once they get on the the wires, campers are all smiles and determination as their fellow yurt mates spot and support them. This evening we played a classic game of Wells Fargo. Socks were snatched, coins were stolen, but a good time was had by all.

Until our next adventure, Be well and Build Strong.
