Busy day in Adventure!
What a day in Adventure! We had an action packed day full of learning, teamwork, and just good ‘ole fun!
We started the day with tarp building. All of Adventure Village got together and learned the art of tying knots and setting up different tarp designs. We then split up into groups with people from different tents and practiced our skills. It’s great practice for our mini-trip, which is coming up in only 4 days!
After that we got a little dirty playing Ultimate Turbo Kickball! It’s a game of kickball but instead of using regular bases, we use old mattresses covered with mud and glitter. You don’t have to slide into first but many people do, see the picture below!
Don’t worry though, we took the next period to cool off and clean up by creeking in the nearby stream! Creeking is an AdVill favorite that is an option everyday if you don’t want to go to waterfront.
It was an action packed day and the kids are having an amazing time! Everyone is so engaged and willing to participate. Tomorrow is all day hikes and we will report back to give you all update and pictures!

He started working at a Northern Wisconsin YMCA Camp as a wilderness trip leader while in college and fell in love with getting kids into nature. The smiles on kids faces after returning from a once in a life time wilderness experience is why he is here today. Zach brought his talents to Frost Valley YMCA, in 2014, when he started as the Trips Coordinator and soon was promoted to Adventure Director. Zach loves all forms of Wilderness exploration, though some would say his heart lies most with canoeing.
