FARM CAMP ACTIVITIES
Learn about the care of a variety of livestock including goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, cows, and rabbits. Pick berries, learn where your food comes from, harvest, prepare, cook, pickle, make jams, compost, plant, save seeds, be a steward of our 3-acre garden space, and don’t forget your appetite for homegrown, healthy foods! Collect eggs, muck stalls, harvest veggies, and enjoy family-style meals. Learn blacksmithing, wool arts, candle making, soap making, and cooking in the kitchen.
SPECIAL EVENTS
On the first Thursday of each session, campers pack up and hike out for an overnight. On the Saturday in the middle of each session, Farm Campers have a fun theme day! On the Sunday in the middle of each session, Farm Campers have a Harvest Dinner – a potluck-style meal for which each yurt prepares a dish to share and eat outside at picnic tables.
FARM CAMP DAILY SCHEDULE
- Chores & Morning Meeting – 7:15 am
Farm Camp days start bright and early. Chores begin at 7:15 am, and everyone pitches in to care for the farm. Chores range from feeding the animals to collecting chicken eggs. - Breakfast – 8:00 am
- Specialty #1 – 9:00 am
Specialties are 4-day skill-building classes. Each camper will participate in 6 different specialties. The farm curriculum includes Barn, Garden, and 4 specialties of the campers’ choosing. There will be a variety of choices such as sports, arts, hiking, cooking, dancing, outdoor skills, and more! - Specialty #2 – 10:00 am
During these specialties, campers might be found harvesting green beans, writing a creative story, building an obstacle course for the goats, and much, much more! - Specialty #3 – 11:00 am
More fun times will be had as campers continue with their farm specialties. - Lunch – 12:00 pm
- Rest Hour – 1:00 pm
- Campers Choice & Waterfront – 2:00 pm
This activity period is offered as a way for campers to try something new each day! Maybe an adventure in the ferns, pickling, bunny snuggling, a raspberry picking contest… the possibilities are endless! During this time, certified lifeguards lead water programs such as creeking in our very own section of the Neversink River and boating on our pond! - Snack Time & Circle Up Activity – 3:30 pm
- Yurt Time – 4:00 pm
Yurt Time is a special opportunity for campers to bond and spend intentional time with their yurt group. Whether they’re heading out on a wacky adventure or winding down by the pond for a little spa time, these moments of connection are foundational to our camp community.
