A Horseback Journey Through the Catskills

NOTE: As you know, our priority is always the health and safety of our campers. As we begin to plan for Summer 2022, we are still determining which COVID-19 Protocols will be implemented for the summer. However after many conversations with our CEO, Senior Administration and our staff Frost Valley has made the decision that all eligible overnight and day campers (ages 5 and up) and staff will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend camp this summer. Learn more about this requirement and stay tuned to our 2022 COVID-19 FAQ page for more information. We will be working with the New York State Department of Health, CDC, and American Camp Association to stay updated. To see what we did last summer, please look at our 2021 COVID-19 FAQ page

Horse Trails

This program is designed for both boys and girls entering grades 8 and above (min age 13) who want to experience an exciting horse trekking adventure through pristine Catskill Mountain trails. Spend full days exploring nature on horseback and cozy nights sitting by the fire reflecting on the day, making memories with new friends, and sleeping under the stars. Riders will have full responsibility for caring for their horse while on the trail. Learn outdoor wilderness skills such as the Leave No Trace Seven Principles© while packing out at campsites. In addition to polishing equestrian skills, there will be plenty of non-horse adventures! This challenging yet fun excursion requires that riders be confident walking/trotting a horse and comfortable in the great outdoors. Participants must have previous riding experience, preferably in Frost Valley’s equestrian programs.

Horse Trails Programs Run During Sessions 1B, 2B, 3B, & 4B

(1-week sessions are labeled “a” for the first week during a numbered session, and “b” for the second week.)
