How do I sign up for facial recognition notifications?

To sign up, either text FV2026 to 735-343 or scan the QR code on the flyer you received. Facial recognition is an optional feature that helps you automatically receive photos of your camper.

• Day Camp: $6.99/session, with a guarantee of at least 3 matched photos
• Overnight Camp: $29.99/session, with a guarantee of at least 13 matched photos

If you don’t receive the guaranteed number of matched photos, Waldo offers a money-back guarantee.

This fee is paid directly to Waldo and is not connected to our camp registration system. Remember—you can always browse and download photos for free or without the facial recognition feature through the galleries!

Mail & Packages

Receiving notes from home helps to ensure a safe and secure feeling for our campers. In an effort to encourage letter writing and celebrate unplugging, Frost Valley provides free postcards so that kids can write home to their parents. Postcards will be pre-stamped and available upon request.

We recommend you send at least four to five pieces of mail each session your child is at camp. Due to our rural setting, it can take three to four days to get domestic mail to and from Frost Valley YMCA. Counselors encourage their campers to write home, but they are not forced to do so. Please don’t be concerned if you do not hear from your child right away.

Non-food items are acceptable to send to campers. Send toys, magazines, books, stickers, and things your child can share with their cabinmates. It is a good idea to send packages early within a given session. Do not send food of any kind. Due to possible food allergy issues, we will not accept food items. Food received will be disposed of promptly. To better ensure your camper receives their package before the end of their session, you may send it before the start of camp if you choose.

Email

Parents, relatives, and friends can keep in contact with campers during their time at camp using our one-way email system. Information on how to sign up for this service is provided on check-in day. We print out emails and hand them out with each day’s mail. Campers do not have any access to the internet, and therefore, cannot respond via email. We encourage campers to write home as frequently as possible – we suggest that campers come with writing materials, stamps, and addresses, but we also provide free postcards for kids to use.
