As I walked around yesterday afternoon—temps in the mid-70s, sunny, a little breeze—I noticed a trend. Campers in various parts of camp were quietly talking, reflecting, “hanging out.” Lest people think that camp is all high hilarity, the constant loud flow of games and activities, take a look at some of these scenes. Kids too—not just adults—begin to realize that being outdoors in a beautiful place can inspire calm.

Wow! What a day at Frost Valley YMCA! We have been so lucky for so many reasons! Not only did the rain go away, but the sun came out and we had such beautiful weather all day. Because the sun came out, many of our campers got to go on their Overnight. They ate pita pizzas on the campfire for dinner, and are currently eating smores and getting ready to sleep in their sleeping bags under the stars. For all of those not on overnights tonight, we had a #OneCamp Dinner tonight in the Dining Hall! Every overnight camping department ate dinner together, and we sure did make it special. […]

We just had the most amazing closing campfire for Wawayanda Session 2. Our counselors sang sweet songs, the sky was a beautiful pink and blue cloud-scape, and the fire was warm and glowing. We have had the most amazing session and we are so sad to see everyone leave, but are happy knowing that we will see you all again next summer!
