This is the time when Overnight Camp would have been in session 4, but unfortunately camp is quiet without the sounds of summer campers laughing as they greet friends and counselors and check into their lodgings. The Frost Valley Educational Farm is usually home to our farm campers this time of year, but due to the pandemic, all of our overnight camp programs have been cancelled. However, that doesn’t stop our crops from growing and our farmers from farming – safely of course! Throughout the summer we have been donating much of our bounty to the United Methodist Food Pantry in Ellenville, NY and recently, we were able to participate in another way to serve our community. Although we are saddened that this is Frost Valley’s first summer ever without camp, we see this period of pause as a time to focus on making summer ‘21 more meaningful than ever. Prior to the pandemic, we planned to – during each session’s check-out day – inform our 2020 campers that we would have new village names for next summer.
